Our Vision
The very essence of leadership is that you have a vision.
- Theodore Hesberg
Our vision is to establish a Wild Horse Land & Trust Conservancy to preserve genetically diverse, viable herd groups as a valuable and intrinsic part of America's resources and ecosystem.
This vision is based on our philosophy that America's wild horses have a right to remain wild and free. However, each year thousands of wild horses continue to be removed from their indigenous environment and relocated off public lands.
When wild horses must be relocated, Return to Freedom maintains that, whenever possible, bonded horses be allowed to stay within their natural herd groups. We are perhaps the only conservancy in this country with this mandate.
The Wild Horse Land Trust
Because our resources are limited at Return to Freedom, in order to save more horses we need more land.
The Wild Horse Land Trust has been developed to assure that donations are earmarked to expand our land base and provide a permanent Natural Conservancy and Equid Educational Center. With new mandates from the Bureau of Land Management to remove approximately 26,000 wild horses from public lands by 2005, we urgently need your support. Find out how you can help.
