EMERGENCY FUND RAISING CAMPAIGN
Sanctuary is Forever. Our senior and special needs horses need your help!
Now in our 19th year, many of the wild horses and burros are in their very senior years and our special needs and feeds population has grown! As the horses age we do our best with our veterinary team to provide regular preventative care (dental, worming, supplements) so the horses can have a good quality of life- the majority living well into their thirties). In addition, with over 350 wild horses and 46 burros, we address emergency and unforeseen medical needs. RTF plans for an annual veterinary budget of $45,000.
You can help Return to Freedom provide medical and on-going special care!
If you cannot make a donation, please spread the word — and thank you!
Become a Member
With over 400 mouths to feed, Return to Freedom Wild Horse Preservation and Sanctuary relies on support from the public. Our monthly membership program allows you to sign up to make an automatic monthly contribution. Once you sign up you don’t have to think about it again.
Each month we’ll automatically bill your debit or credit card for the amount that you specify. By signing up for monthly contributions you give us a source of income we can count on each month to help us feed and care for our equine residents.
As a member, you will receive our newsletter and other updates from us. Plus, members are entitled to a complimentary Living History Sanctuary Tour for one or more people, depending on your giving level, each tour season (choose from pre-scheduled dates). Just tell us your membership level when you book your tour! Sign up today and help us protect and preserve America’s wild horses.

Return to Freedom provides sanctuary to nearly 400 wild horses and burros. As we continue to fight for their rightful place in the wild, on America’s public lands, we are also fighting an ongoing financial struggle. Grants and donations are down due to the economic climate, yet hay costs continue to rise as hay becomes more and more scarce.
Right now, we are feeding over 1800 bales of hay each month. Without your help, Return to Freedom faces a very tough road ahead. Would you consider helping us by signing up to make a monthly donation of $22 (the cost of 1 bale of hay)? Being a monthly donor means that we know that each month we can count on your bale of hay being there.
It only takes a few moments to sign up and then PayPal will automatically bill your credit or debit card each month for $22. You can cancel at anytime. On behalf of the horses we thank you very much.
OTHER WAYS TO HELP
There is more than one way to help Return to Freedom help horses besides a donation — or in addition to a donation.

Matching Funds
Did you know that many companies offer a matching funds program, where they will match the charitable contributions of their employees? This is a great way to double your donation. Ask your employer if they offer matching funds.
Planned Giving & Bequests
There is a certain peace in knowing that we can leave a legacy of good that extends beyond our time on this earth. Bequests allow us to specify in our will that either a specific portion of our estate (specific bequest), or whatever is left after specific gifts are distributed to other beneficiaries (residuary bequest), will be given to the charitable organization of our choice. Please consider Return to Freedom in your estate planning.
On behalf of all the animals at Return to Freedom’s American Wild Horse Sanctuary, we thank you.
Return to Freedom is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Tax ID number 06-1484961.

When you purchase our products, you help us take care of the 400 horses at our sanctuary and continue our work on behalf of America’s horses in the wild, too. Happy shopping!
