The Bureau of Land Management will hold a public hearing to discuss the use of motorized vehicles and aircraft, including helicopters in roundups, at 5 p.m. on June 27 at the White Pine County Library, 995 Campton St., in Ely, Nev.
BLM will take public comment on the use of helicopters to capture wild horses, as well as the use of trucks to transport wild horses, fixed-wing aircraft to estimate population, and vehicles for monitoring and other uses. The agency is required to hold public hearings on the use of helicopters and other vehicles in wild horse management under Section 404 of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act.
