As you gather with your loved ones for Thanksgiving, please consider a gift which will maximize Return to Freedom’s ability to provide feed and care for our nearly 400 wild horses and burros for 365 days. If we reach our goal, we are on our way to ensuring their care in perpetuity.
#GivingTuesday is an international day to celebrate giving back. And this #GivingTuesday, Nov. 29, Return to Freedom has to opportunity to be one of the charities GlobalGiving’s one-day matching program seeded by $500,000 from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Here’s how it will work: Beginning at 9 p.m. Pacific on Monday, Nov. 28, GlobalGiving will be offering a 50% match on each unique donation up to $1,000.
Matching will conclude at 9 p.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, Nov. 29 — or whenever the Gates Foundation funds are exhausted.

RTF’s resident wild horses and burros were taken from their home ranges but now have a safe, loving home where they can live with family bands in the most natural environment that we can provide. Thanks to our generous supporters, RTF’s level of care goes beyond food, shelter and water.
Imagine if someone reunited you with a long lost loved one. RTF also works tirelessly to reunite wild horses families that were separated during roundups and in rescue situations all year-round. In 2016, we reunited three stallions with their mares and gave refuge to 10 bonded horses from the Cold Creek herd.
Your donation to help RTF cover its sanctuary operating expenses will also free up additional funding with which to advocate for wild horses and burros on the range and in government facilities — including pushing for policy reform, placing humane observers at roundups, and paying for the costs of selective legal action — as well as educational programs.
