It’s time for Congress to put a lasting ban on horse slaughter here at home and stop American horses — domestic and wild — from being shipped to foreign slaughterhouses.

Bipartisan legislation was recently reintroduced that would do just that.

Ways you can help:

• Send a letter to your members of Congress urging them to support the Save America’s Forgotten Equines (SAFE) Act.
• Call your members of Congress at (202) 224-3121 and urge them to support H.R. 1661 in the House, S. 775 in the Senate.
