One wish is coming true for a four-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with a disorder that causes strokes.

Kynlee Thomas and her family flew from Oklahoma to the Central Coast in order to meet Spirit, the horse that inspired the animated horse in the movie, “Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron.”

Spirit lives at Return to Freedom’s American Wild Horse Sanctuary in Lompoc.

Kynlee and her family received a tour of the property before enjoying a picnic with Spirit as part of her Make-A-Wish visit.

“It’s just like a weight lifted off, you know, not to worry about everything, just coming here and making sure she has a good time and seeing her smile. I mean, it is kind of, you know, speechless,” said Kynlee’s dad, Darrell Thomas.

The visit was made possible by Make-A-Wish Oklahoma, Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties and Return to Freedom.

When Kynlee is back at home, she enjoys swingsets and playing outside. She also tries her best to stay optimistic as she battles her diagnosis.
