This morning, Return to Freedom received a call from a wild horse advocate who observes horses on the Pryor Mountains Wild Horse Range Herd Management Area. They said that Bureau of Land Management staff had shot and killed a beloved horse called Echo, the grandson of the famous stallion Cloud.
RTF is deeply concerned about the shooting but we have not yet confirmed the circumstances. Early information suggests that BLM is saying that it needed to euthanize the horse for humane reasons.
Again, we are utilizing our backchannels to find out the best information so that we can respond in a way that makes a difference. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
