This #WildHorseWednesday, we thought we’d share a bit of video from our staffer Ryan.
He was on the range in Western Nevada a few days ago when he spotted a band of wild horses about a half mile off. After parking his truck, he was able to approach them on foot from the downwind side.
The horses noticed Ryan when he was about 20 yards away. Eventually, they began to make their way closer.
Ryan sat down as the horses approached, then came around behind him. They grazed and socialized nearby for about 45 minutes before he decided to leave the plateau to the horses.
Later, the same band later passed by when he was in his truck. He saw the lead stallion and a satellite stallion fight briefly. Ryan watched for a bit longer before the band ran off into the distance.
