BLM roundup schedule: Don't let wild horse captures go unseen, Jan. 5, 2017

/ Featured, In The News, News

A contractor’s helicopter pursues wild horses during a roundup at the Frisco Herd Management Area in July 2016. BLM plans to capture more wild horses there starting on Saturday, Jan. 7, as part of population control research at the Frisco and Conger HMAs. On Saturday, Jan. 7, the Bureau of Land Management is set to begin a string of helicopter roundups with plans to capture upwards of 1,575 wild horses total in Utah and Nevada. Tragically, most will never see their home range again.

These are actions taken by a government agency on public lands and paid for by taxpayers — they should not go unseen.

As you read this message, we are on our way to the roundup. Return to Freedom needs your help to keep humane observers on the ground as often as possible in order to help ensure transparency and accountability. Please consider clicking here to contribute to RTF’s Wild Horse Defense Fund, which makes it possible for RTF to have humane observers present at roundups.
