The Bureau of Land Management will hold a hearing on the use of motorized vehicles and aircraft — including helicopters — from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 15 at the BLM Montana / Dakotas State Office at 5001 Southgate Drive in Billings, Mont.

In addition to using helicopters to round up and remove wild horses, BLM uses motorized vehicles and aircraft to tasks that include transporting wild horses, making population estimates and applying fertility control.

The agency must hold regular hearings on motorized vehicle use to comply with the Federal Land Policy and Management Act.
